The Infurnus is a fiery species of slug. Infurnus can survive falling into molten lava. These slugs are empowered with the element of fire. In its protoform it can create a small flame, good for light in dark spots, signal flares, and lighting a campfire. Its prefered habitat is the Cinder Rapids. Eli Shane owns an Infurnus, whom he calls Burpy, which is one of his favourite slugs, the other two being Joules and Doc. When it hits 100 mph, it takes on the characteristics of a phoenix-dragon hybrid.

A famous Infurnus is Burpy, who belongs to Eli Shane.

A ghouled Infurnus is called a Darkfurnace.

Appearance

An Infurnus slug's appearance stands up to the name. They are dark orange in color with yellow and tan color markings. They have a small flame patterned belly which is colored tan. They also have two antennae at the top of their heads, with yellow tips on them. Infurnus slugs have small two tipped flame on top of their heads, going down which is colored yellow. In its protoform it looks like a flaringo, the only difference is the color scheme . When it hits 100 mph, it takes on the characteristics of a phoenix dragon hybrid. When it transforms, it's tail and wings are on fire. In one image, Burpy's wings are turned into fists.

Mega Morphs are a level of power Slugs can reach at 200mph, first seen in"Upgrade" .

Mega morphing is when a slug hits 200mph, boosting their powers. The first known morph happened to Burpy, Eli's Infurnus, evolving his power and changing his appearance slightly. This happened when Eli Shane shot Burpy while using mecha upgrades that enabled travel at 100mph, causing theblaster to shoot out a slug that had already reached velocity, causing the speeds to stack up.

Slugs that mega morph stay in their mega morph form even when shot at normal speeds. The power of the mega-morphs seem to exceed that of Fusion Shots. Red Hook has created a blaster modification (Accelerators ) that allows blasters to shoot Mega-morphs without the need of a mecha to take the shooter to 100 MPH.

It has been shown that certain slugs can not mega morph yet if their not experienced enough , for example Stuntz who has not been slung as much as Eli's favorite slugs was not used to the speed and thrown off.

In this Slugterra episode 4 you can watch how Tthe gang were looking for Frostcrawler slugs. Due to Pronto’s mistake, all the slugs fall and reach velocity. All the slugs transforming at the same time creates an ice hazard. The gang escapes and a Frostcrawler follows Eli. He names it Chiller. When escaping, Eli blaster is destroyed. Kord says that only Red Hook can fix his blaster. So they go to Quiet Lawn Cavern, home of Red Hook. The Cavern is located under a bunch of Grenuker slugs which is a problem for the Cavern people. The Cavern is threatened by Billy, Shorty, and Glasses who are members of the Hooligang, the official employees of Dr. Blakk. Eli defeats Billy in a Trick Shot Competition. Billy only has a Boon Doc slug who doesn’t know what it does. He thinks it useless and releases it but Eli recruits it into his team and names it Doc. Billy seeks Dr. Blakk for Ghoul slugs and returns with vengeance. Mean while, Eli gets a new blaster from Red Hook and faces the Hooligang. In the battle, Eli knows what a Boon Doc slug does. It heals ghoul slugs.

• Although Eli's birthdate is unknown, in The Slug Run , he states that he has started riding a Mecha-Beast sometime in Febuary, so it is possible that his birthday is in Febuary because he left the Surface a day after his birthday (as said in The World Beneath Our Feet Part 1)
• Eli is one of the only Slugslingers to name their slugs.
• LK-E (Lucky) is his first and favorite Mecha-Beast.
• Eli has owned two blasters so far. His pervious blaster broke because his slugs were getting to powerful and he currently uses Defender Slipstream XVL, which is his favorite Blaster.
• Eli is the only other person other than Shinai to perform a Fusion Shot. He is the owner of the Double Barrel, the only Fusion Blaster (that does a Fusion Shot) that is currently operating.
• He had a great uncle who was succeeded by his father before him.
• It was revealed in The Return that Eli owns an unnamed Geoshard. He also has a unnamed Flaringo that was seen in a few Slugisodes.
• He and the Shane Gang were the first to use Mega Morphing. Eli was the first person to shoot a Mega Morphing Slug and Accelerator that did not shoot a ghoul slug. (Burpy was the first normal slug to be shot out of a blaster with an accelerator)
• Eli is the only Shane Gang to have their exact age stated.
• On the website, it is stated that Eli's favorite slugs are Burpy, Joules and Doc, although in the TV Show, Eli is seen to treat all his slugs equally and fairly, despite their abilities.

Eli Shane is the young fifteen year old boy who is the founder and current Leader of the Shane Gang. He succeeds his father, Will Shane, as The Shane, the one who keeps the barrier between Slugterra and the Surface a secret. Eli and his gang combats Dr. Blakk, an nefarious villian who wants to take over Slugterra, in order to maintain peace.

Synopsis

The gang runs into a slinger with ghoul slugs and are defeated by him. They return home to a destroyed hideout. In order to replace all the gear destroyed at the hideout and in the battle against the slinger, they have to get new gear and a few upgrades. To buy all the gear, Eli has to trade Joules. 

On the way back home, Eli decides to get his slug back and goes to the shop. The Shopkeeper refuses about the refund. Eli and the gang go to the back side of the shop where they found Joules. They also ran into one of Blakk's men named Diablos El Nacho. 

They fight and the gang is defeated. So they head to Blakk's Headquarters to get Joules. In the process, they also free the other slugs trapped. Eli gets Jolues and duels Blakk. As Blakk and his men were too strong, the gang escpes to the hideout.
